The aluminium torch was created by UK design studio, Barber Osgerby. It is perforated with 8,000 holes, each representing one of the torchbearers and is made from a golden aluminium alloy. The London Olympic torch has won the prestigious Design of the Year award 2012 and is on show at the Design Museum in London until July 4.

These works of art were made for an annual exhibition at the Sand Museum in Tottori Dunes, Japan. The theme is “Great Britain,” which is in honor of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
