2012 Olympic Torch (London)

The aluminium torch was created by UK design studio, Barber Osgerby. It is perforated with 8,000 holes, each representing one of the torchbearers and is made from a golden aluminium alloy.  The London Olympic torch has won the prestigious Design of the Year award 2012 and is on show at the Design Museum in London until July 4.

New Banksy

Plagued with allegations and subsequent evidence of phone tapping scandals, longtime United Kingdom newspaper News of the World closed its doors after a 168 year old run. Look to no other than British satirical artist Banksy to spoof the recents events in this newly unveiled illustration of a stick figure claiming his tap, as seen next to a water spigot, is being phoned. The clever homonym piece was recently spotted on the artist’s website.

Kiera Rathbones Typewriter Art

“27-year-old Keira Rathbone from London, first started experimenting with typewriter art when she was in university. She bought an old typewriter from a flea market in the hope that she would soon use it to write something. By the middle of her first year at the university, she hadn’t come up with anything to put down on paper, so she decided to use it as a drawing tool. The first results were promising, and young Keira quickly realized she would be exploring this new art form much further.”
